
Clindamycin
Indications:
Clindamycin is used to treat infections of the respiratory tract, skin, pelvis, vagina, and abdomen caused by bacteria. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
How to take:
Clindamycin is taken as directed by the doctor. It comes in a capsule form and is taken by mouth with a full glass of water. It is best to take the tablets at regular intervals and finish the prescribed course of the drug. Do not take more than the prescribed dose. If a dose is missed, take one a soon as possible. For more detailed information please see label and please consult specialist. Do not take more Clindamycin than is indicated at the label without consulting a doctor. Continue to take this antibiotic even if you feel well, do not stop taking without talking to the doctor.
Precautions:
Clindamycin may cause serious side effects such as stomach cramp, severe diarrhea, or bloody stools. Consult doctor immediately if these symptoms appear. This drug is effective in bacterial infections and does not treat viral infections. Prolonged use of Clindamycin may cause a second infection therefore follow the dosage prescribed by the doctor. Use this drug with caution in children and elderly, they may be more sensitive to its effects. This drug also is excreted in breastmilk therefore consult doctor first if pregnant before using Clindamycin.
